Summary: Saw I a disappointment
I was very disappointed when I used the RYOBI Scroll Saw, It shakes badly, the blade doesn't cut very well, and it is nearly impossible to get it to cut a straight line, no matter how careful I am. I've been cutting thin wood for making model buildings and cool wood boxes for children for years using a sabre saw. I get more accuracy with a hand held sabre saw than with this table saw. So much for making things easy on myself, and creating better jewelery boxes and trunks. Just so it wouldn't be a total loss, I converted the thing into a Paint Bottle Shaker. It still functions as a less than satisfactory saw, but now, it's also a fabulous paint shaker for my Humbrol and Floquil paints. Thanks RYOBI! I've always wanted a hundred Dollar paint shaker.

Summary: Poor
I ordered this saw from Amazon as I do have other Ryobi tools which work fine. How can you beat the price on this, [...]? You can't but maybe you shouldn't buy it. I wanted this to learn how to do inlays so I didn't want to spend too much on a saw. I didn't have much time with this Ryobi because I received it damaged. Now, I can respect some damage in shipment but this thing was packed like a 5 year old was missing the ice cream until this job was done. It was thrown in the box with about 10 feet of crinkled paper and 6 feet of bubble pillows. It rattled around in the box and when I opened it the rear table mount had broken off and the table was flopping around. The table on this saw is not cast iron, it's cast aluminum and the mount is actually part of the casting. Nothing that I wanted to repair myself so I put it back in the box with all of the packing and returned it. Amazon's return policy was terrific and other than having to take it to a UPS store, the return went smoothly. After actually seeing the saw, the quality was not what I had expected. At $[...], it's probably a good saw if you can get it in one piece. As for me, I'll shop for something a little more substantial with a cast iron table.

Summary: Will never buy from CPO again.
Sounds and looks like a great product, doesn't it? Well, let me tell you, the first saw I recieved looked in good condition when I received it. I mounted to my bench pretty easily and over a period of a week was able to scroll with it for 3-4 hours approx. Then, one night for no reason part of the saw that secures the clamp to hold the blade in place broke off. I thought, "no big deal". It still worked and held the blade in place well. The next morning I sit down to start scrolling and after about 5 minutes of use the entire linkage locked up, for no reason. The saw wouldn't work anymore, the motor still turned on, but I just got this awful grinding noise when I turned it on and the blade refused to move. I called CPO, who's rep answered very quickly and they shipped me another saw and emailed me a return tracking label for the broken one. I thought wow, that's cool no hassle return. When I received the replacement saw I was disgusted. It looked as if they had taken the returned saw from someone else and just threw it in the box and shipped it to me. It was covered in saw dust and black marks all over it. The table had a 1/2" by 1/2" HOLE in it and was not even secured to the saw. It was loose and the bracket was broken so you couldn't tighten it down. The metal housing was bent to !@#$. Basically the saw wasn't even usable! I will never purchase from CPO again.
