Summary: Almost perfect out of the box
After unpacking and installing on the stand, I checked the alignment and most were dead on, only two small adjustments were needed and were easy to perform. I maybe spent 15 minutes on this and was up and running.

It has adequate power for my needs, I can rip 12/4 lumber without having to rewire it for 220V. I do however have it in a circuit with only 10' of 10 gauge between the breaker panel and the outlet so I have very little voltage drop.

The upgrade to newer style safety features like a riving knife is really nice.

The dust collection port is not very effective, even with a dust collector hooked up, I still have to vacuum under it even with just some light work, like crosscutting 2x4s.

Summary: Satisfied
My last table saw I bought in the early 70's. A friend purchased his Bosch 4100 and I tried it out and was amazed at its features. Because I'm older it was getting harder to lift and move the old saw, so the "stand-on-wheels" was one feature I really needed. I've been using the new saw everyday after I get home from work for the last three weeks and have built a ash dresser and pine kitchen isle. The magnified ruler on the saw is very accurate and easy to use -- don't need to re-check with the folding ruler. The blade that came on the saw is pretty smooth, but I still finish it off with the planer. Easy to move, accurate, clean cuts for the price, I am impressed. You might want to read the directions on putting the stand together rather than trying to "macho wing-it". I even laughed at myself on that part.

Summary: Great saw....But
But you see the way the gravity base projects off the left side about 12" at foot hieght...Thats a great foot tripper, hose and cord grabber. Forget about left side walk by feeding close to the table...a very common practice. Sure that projection helps with stability...but its in the way. What about dust collection? No Problem on a rough frame job site; but do a high end remodel where compact size and fine dust containment is essential and the crew hooking cords, huffin dust and shop-vac'n nooks and crannies. I'd sacrifice the mitre guage and riffin attachment for decent dust control. A clean work environment is more productive, safe and appreciated.... almost enjoyable.

Summary: Very good contractor saw
I've had the Bosch 4100 worksite table saw and the gravity rise stand for about 6 months. I've found it to be a very good contractor saw. As several people have noted, it is a contractors saw not a high end cabinet saw. My only complaint with the machine is the mitre gauge. It would be nice if Bosch had included a slightly better mitre gauge -- the fence on the mitre gauge could be longer and the mitre gauge slide wobbles badly in the t-track. However, for the money it is a great machine.

Summary: Wow, nice saw!
My husband and I bought this saw after a lot of online research. He used to be a carpenter (in another lifetime!) and knew what he wanted in a portable table saw - and was not disappointed with this Bosch saw! It took us a couple of hours to put it all together - and even *I* can work the gravity-rise stand! ;-) We spent some more time making sure everything was set up perfectly before using it for the first time.

It's great that the accessories store right on the sides of the saw. There is even a spot for the Allen wrench! The saw and stand are of excellent quality, the saw works perfectly, the safety features work easily and well - and it's easy to store it in the upright position in front of the garage.

Great work, Bosch!
